About me
I’m Enrico van de Laar, a data professional, author and trainer with more than 25 years of hands-on experience across just about every data role. My expertise lies at the intersection of data, AI and governance, where I help organisations and individuals in getting real value from their data while at the same time keeping control of it.
Sharing knowledge is one of my greatest passions. I get energy from helping others grow and from breaking down complex topics into understandable and directly applicable concepts. Whether it involves students or experienced professionals: I make sure everyone can follow the story and get started with it right away. Humour plays an important role in that, after all, learning works better when it’s fun too!
Thanks to my broad practical experience, from architecture and performance tuning to data privacy and data science, I can always connect theory to realistic examples from the field. This makes my sessions not only strong in content, but also directly relevant to the practice of tomorrow.
Alongside the work I do as a consultant and trainer, I co-founded Privinity, which develops privacy protection solutions, and putSimply, a free mobile app that makes complex language accessible and understandable for everyone. You can read more about both here.
